I made these cute little party hats for a friend of mine’s twin girls’ first birthday party. The pattern for the hats can be found here. I added the crown myself.
After adding the ruffle edging I changed yarn so the crown would stand out a little, and worked two rows of single crochet- the first in the unworked front loop left after working the ruffle.
Then I did a row of shells (sc, skip two sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc) around, join with sl st.
Then a row for the peaks (sc in first sc, hdc in next dc, dc in next dc, [tr, ch 2, picot, ch2, tr] in next dc, dc in next dc, hdc in next dc) around join with sl st finish off.
I happened to have some Swarovski elements left over that I glued to the front three peaks of each.
Just a simple project for a quick birthday gift!
I did get the yarn today for the dress that I’m making for my daughter so I can finish it up this week. After that it’s back to Grannies!
