These are projects that I have designed myself.

Cable Class

CuffsI was so excited this fall when contacted about having my Three Cabled Boot Cuff pattern used in a class on crocheted cables!  Each participant purchased their own patter, so I got multiple sales as a result. But the best part is this picture of everyone’s cuffs during the class.  They all look wonderful and I’m so excited to see the pattern being used. I hope that everyone enjoyed!

Baby Afghan and Pillow Set

MainI received a custom order request for this baby afghan from an old friend of mine and I was very honored to be able to accommodate.  Her Grandfather had crocheted baby afghans for all his great-grandchildren before he passed way.  Deanne is now expecting the first great-grandchild since his passing and asked if I could try to reproduce the pattern.  Though the result is not exactly the same as his pattern, it is very close and I hope reminds her of him.

I think this is probably my favorite request ever.  Crocheting an afghan for an order is one thing.  But to try to stand-in and create something on behalf of someone who is now gone is very humbling.  I was so touched to be asked to make the attempt.

EdgingDeanne selected three Bernant Baby Sport skeins in a coral, light taupe, and a matching variegated yarn.  These colors turned out to be just fabulous together and I must say it is one of my favorite afghans I have ever made.

DetailWhen I completed the afghan I still had a lot of yarn left; so I made two solid color pillows to go with it.  I made four flowers using the same stitch as the edging on the afghan and sewed them together on each side of the pillows, using a button in the center and adding pearl beads for embellishment.  I love how the solid pillows look against the stripes of the afghan.

FullIt turned out so pretty that I have listed the set in my Etsy store.  I would love to make the set again in some other customized colors.  I am also working on writing up the pattern to add to my Ravelry store.

October – Square Twenty

October – Square Twenty

I saw some squares with the reaching stitches like this, but none that I liked exactly so I wrote the pattern for this square. It’s a very basic granny with long double crochet stitches that reach down to the stitch two rows below.

Orange is generally not a color I would personally crochet in.  In fact I had to go buy a skein-the first I have purchased for this project I believe.  But since this is October’s second square, here you are!

I do have this square available for sale on Ravelry!

Only two more sets of squares left!

Pattern – Basket Weave Baby Afghan

1Here is the afghan I have been working on in payment for my new graphics.  I really like how it came out.  It is a basket weave stitch with a faux ribbon edging similar to the Ribbon and Pearls Christening Afghan.  It also has a double ruffle in two colors with a picot edge.

2The pattern for this afghan is now available for sale on Ravelry!  I’ve set the price for it at $5.00.  I would love to hear from anyone who purchases the pattern and see pictures of your completed afghan!  I may even post your picture on the site here!  Click on the picture to see the Ravelry listing, or just the “buy now” link.  Enjoy!

Cotton Rounds

Cotton Rounds 2It’s not very often that I make something for myself.  But I took a break over the last couple of days and did just that.  I saw a pin on Pinterest for a pattern in a UK crochet magazine that was an idea I could really use. cotton roundsI like to use cotton rounds to clean my face with astringent.

Even at 35 (Oops. There it is.)  it’s still the only way I feel like I’ve gotten the dirt and oil off my skin.  I fell in love with cotton rounds instead of cotton balls when I found them.  But I’m constantly buying new and throwing them away.  These rounds are also made of cotton, but are reusable.  I tried them out already and they work great.  The pin I saw on these looked like it was just one round but that seemed too small to me, so I did a second round of single crochet.  But after using them I think the single round (I did treble crochets) would work fine.

Finished Size:

1.5 – 2 inches wide

Required materials:
  • Cotton yarn
  • Size F Crochet Hook

Cotton Round:

Round 1: In a magic ring, ch 3, treble crochet 19, join with sl st in beg ch 3. Tighten the magic ring until the center hole is about the size of a pencil.

Optional Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st and in each around, join with sl st in first sc. Finish off.

Rope

Chain 35, sl st in 5th ch from hook and in each across to beg chain, 9 sc in beg ch. Finish off.

Weave all yarn ends.  Wash prior to use according to yarn label.  Thread the rounds onto the rope and hang near your bathroom sink.
